A virtual set means goodbye to the green screen News

The boom in British film production continues today as the country’s largest virtual reality studio opens in London.

The 740-square-meter studio in Ruislip, run by a team that has worked on the Pokémon movie Detective Pikachu and the Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and Coldplay tours are a 20-minute drive from Pinewood, Buckinghamshire, where James Bond and Star Wars films have been made.

It will serve for virtual production, in which a video wall and a ceiling allow filmmakers to create complex and exotic 3D backdrops in real time. Pioneer during the filming of The Mandalorian, the spin-off of Star Wars, allows actors to be immersed in the environment of the film instead of having to act in front of green screens.
