Entain will present a “first virtual reality multisport entertainment experience of its kind” later this year.
The sports betting and gaming operator will build on its collaboration with global technology and media company Verizon Media to deliver gaming and betting content to sports fans.
The virtual reality “sports club” entertainment experience will be developed in all Entain international brands and will be available for free on Oculus Quest 2 virtual reality headphones. It will allow customers to play various RV sports games, both individually and with friends.
Available only to those over the age of 18, the features include live streaming of football matches, experiences that allow fans to create virtual reality fantasy formations and play virtually different sports games, among others.
“We continually offer our customers a wide range of innovative and exciting experiences, and RV is an exciting opportunity to innovate in new ways,” said Sainep Tiku, COO of Entain.
“The goal is to mix sports, entertainment and different types of immersive play into a single product, offering customers a great mix of new and exciting things to enjoy.”
The launch comes along with the development of the group’s Advanced Responsibility and Care (ARC) platform, which makes player protection unresponsive to a more personalized proactive approach.
“We know consumers are looking for more multidimensional experiences, where betting is just one of the ways they want to enjoy,” Tiku added.
“So we want to surprise them and give them better experiences they’ve never had before and at the same time use our cutting-edge technology to protect our players.”
