Already recognized as South Florida’s largest production studio, the update also includes the implementation of state-of-the-art Unreal Engine software, the world’s most advanced and advanced 3D creation tool, which makes practically the most complex set. they allow real-time filming, exponentially reducing editing and post-production work.
BrandStar Studios has hired a full team of Unreal Engine CGI artists, which allow for the development of higher virtual photorealism environments for set constructions, with indoor and outdoor scenes available from around the world.
“We can basically put anyone, anywhere, in real time,” said Mark Alfieri, CEO of BrandStar. “The combination of equipment and technology makes us a true next-generation studio. We are comparable to the most sophisticated film studios in California.”
Improvements include one of the largest volumes (LEDs) on the East Coast, measuring more than 13 feet high and more than 100 feet long, all within BrandStar’s 43,000-square-foot facility. LEDs are the latest technology with a size of 1.9M pixels that allows an actual 8K resolution.
“There’s a reason technology takes advantage of‘ Unreal, ’” Alfieri adds. “It allows us to create high-end productions quickly, using the same in-camera virtual environments that major studios are implementing to film their most technology-intensive programming. We will use this technology to produce music videos, virtual events, final commercials, television, feature films, basically anything anyone can imagine, we can produce it. “
BrandStar uses this advanced technology in the production of its own shows, which include The Balancing Act and Military Makeover with Montel, which will air on Lifetime.
Other critical aspects of the multi-million dollar improvements include:
-
Three 27-foot x 10-foot motorized LED ceilings, called “Star Walkers.” These ceilings have a super high resolution, 2.9 M pixels. They move around the studio and can scroll down in four different directions to become additional LED walls when needed, offering multiple lighting and VFX (visual effects) functions.
-
The ‘Star Walkers’ allow the studio to become a fully enclosed five-wall LED configuration. The total pixel count between ceilings and walls exceeds 30 million, making it a unique system that does not exist in any other study.
-
BrandStar, in partnership with Scorpio Techno-Cranes, has acquired one of the first 17-foot arms with robotics, a fully automated camera head housing. This is one of the first combination platforms in the world and will allow multiple movements of cameras and programmable cranes, creating a production capture of the best category.
-
A fully equipped control room that houses the latest Grass Valley 4K / 8K switch, which allows you to switch from high-end camera to Virtual Productions.
-
BrandStar Studios, in collaboration with Mo-Sys, is the first in the United States to host the new Mo-Sys VP Pro XR, a set of all-in-one virtual hardware and software that combines the nDisplay multi-node architecture. an improved real-time VP Pro / composer / synchronizer and a new set of XR tools. This XR server system is focused on providing a new non-destructive kinematic composer capability. The Cinematic XR Focus allows focus extractors to focus the focus between real and virtual elements of an LED volume (the world’s first) and is now part of the system.
