The popular mythological universe of Witcher is expanding and this time entering the realm of small screens. The Witcher: Monster Slayer will be an augmented reality game very similar to the popular Pokemon-Go. The new game, which was first announced in August last year, will be released on July 21, 2021.
In a tweet, The Witcher’s official Twitter manager stated: “Tune your swords and charge your smartphones; the world premiere of @TheWitcherMS for iOS and Android arrives on July 21.”
The game is also open for pre-registration on the Android Play Store. Interested players can click on this link to pre-register. Those who pre-register for the game will have access to a special sword that provides additional experience for each monster slaughter.
The announcement was made on Friday by CD Projekt Red. It will be available for free on both Android and iOS.
The announcement comes a week before WitcherCon, a celebration of the franchise hosted by CD Projekt Red and Netflix, which airs the hit TV series.
The developers of the game claim that “The Witcher: Monster Slayer”, users will explore the world around them and fight the threatening virtual monsters in RA. Users will also perform “story-based missions that will propel you through epic adventures inspired by the Witcher series, which will take you into the heart of what it means to be an elite monster killer.”
Players will be able to track down monsters, learn their habits and prepare for battle. There will be a variety of weapons and armor, and he will craft powerful potions of wizards to gain control before a battle.
As the player gains experience and adopts more dangerous enemies, he will need to improve his skills, equipment, and tactics.
Real-time weather and time of day will be used to hunt monsters that live around the player.
