Emirates has launched the airline’s first virtual reality app at the Oculus store that allows its customers to experience their first-class, fully changeable gaming suites, explore the airline’s signature A380 Onboard Lounge, or check out the booth around from your own seat from the comfort of your home.
The Virtual Reality (VR) app is available at emirates.com for anyone with an Internet connection, via the Emirates app, and now in the Oculus Store for Oculus Rift users.
With this latest innovation, the airline has taken the next step in its ambition to reach and attract audiences around the world with the most advanced VR technology.
In a press release, Emirates Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications, Marketing and Branding, Boutros Boutros, said in a press release: “Emirates aims to provide innovative and excellent experiences to customers, whether on board, on the ground or in digital space. In 2018, we were the first airline in the world to introduce advanced VR web technology to our digital platforms, offering our customers an immersive opportunity to learn about the fantastic Emirates experience that awaited them before boarding. We have continued to invest and develop this experience and today we are delighted to be the first airline to launch a full-fledged Oculus VR app.
“This initiative expands our global reach and our ability to interact with our audience through digital platforms. It is also especially relevant at this time, as many people have not traveled for a while due to the pandemic and are looking for inspiration, researching and rediscovering their flight options. “
The airline further revealed that it was created in collaboration with technology company Renacen, and that customers can now browse the Economy, Business and First Class cabins.
“In future developments, Emirates plans to offer customers the ability to explore destinations, select a cabin, book and pay for their Emirates flight from the Emirates Oculus VR app.
Currently, users can explore Emirates ’following virtual reality experiences using the Emirates Oculus VR app in the Oculus Store; offering users accurate, life-size, interactive cabin interior experiences aboard Emirates A380 flagship aircraft and game-changing Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

Guests can explore their seats before registering online with the 3D seat map. The tool allows customers to navigate from one seat to another and even allows potential customers to book their favorite seats from the 3D environment.
