Singapore’s integrated complex, Marina Bay Sands, announced this Saturday the opening of a new permanent virtual reality gallery at the ArtScience Museum.
Celebrating the museum’s tenth anniversary, inaugurated in February 2011, the VR gallery will be equipped with state-of-the-art virtual reality headphones and controllers, which will encourage visitors to explore unique immersive experiences from some of the world’s most renowned museums. and film festivals.
“At ArtScience Museum we believe that new technologies such as virtual reality and augmented reality allow museums to create pioneering experiences for the public,” said Honor Harger, executive director of the ArtScience Museum, Marina Bay Sands.
“Our new virtual reality gallery at level 4 is one of the first of its kind in Southeast Asia and will present a continuous program of avant-garde virtual reality work by artists, filmmakers and scientists.

The gallery will open with a program called Hyperrealities, with works by contemporary artists Olafur Eliasson, Marina Abramović and Anish Kapoor.
