The Alyx “BioShock” mod adds Big Daddy enemies

Return to the abduction, a mod for Half-Life: Alyx set in the original BioShock Rapture’s underwater city, has had a trailer for its second chapter.

Arriving some time in 2021, the new chapter of this RV experience will incorporate Big Daddies, custom weapons and 20 more levels (thanks, UploadVR). You can check out the trailer for Back to Rapture Chapter II low.

The original Return to the abduction mod was released in March of this year and was developed solo by Wim Buytaert. Now Buytaert has Section 8 behind it, a team of eight, which will help bring Rapture to life once again.

Splicers and Big Daddies will be fully animated in this sequel chapter, along with Little Sisters. The number of assets has also increased, by 3,000 compared to the original BioShock they are now making their way into this virtual reality modification.

The first part of the mod had players fighting enemies Half-Life: Alyx, but the sequel will have Splicers capable of firing, and Big Daddies will have weak points to exploit.

Buytaert did the original Return to the abduction after creating other custom campaigns for Half-Life: Alyx, with this modification taking them around 1200 hours for three months. Buytaert said:[BioShock] it’s the best game I’ve ever played and I thought it would be a perfect fit for virtual reality. “

In an effort to make Rapture feel good, Buytaert played the game on Nintendo Switch and stopped moving repeatedly to make sure all levels and rooms were perfectly recreated in Half-Life: Alyx.

The modification will hit PC later this year.

In other news, Beyond melee is a new mod for Super Smash Bros. Melee which adds five new characters, improves many stages, and makes adjustments to the controls in order to improve competitive play.
