The Korea House virtual team was launched at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics

The Korea Sports and Olympic Committee (KOSC) has launched a virtual hotel house for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Team Korea House was launched today, with the KSOC forced to bring the concept online due to COVID-19 restrictions in the Olympic host city of Tokyo.

“This is the first time Team Korea is able to invite everyone to their virtual Team Korea House,” said Kee Heung Lee, president of KSOC.

“We have prepared a unique experience that will immerse everyone who uses the latest technology.

“I look forward to welcoming the international sports community to our Korea House virtual team.”

The online version of Team Korea House includes a virtual reality museum with fourteen Korean Olympic heroes.

Visitors will also get to know the culture, sports and tourism of South Korea.

The KSOC says a travel section will allow visitors to explore more than a hundred different travel destinations, while fans of K-Pop and Korean culture can benefit from virtual reality content.

Support messages can also be sent to South Korean athletes competing in Tokyo 2020.

Visitors to the Korea House team can learn about the Gangwon 2024 Winter Olympics.

Gangwon Province, which hosted the 2018 Winter Olympics and Paralympics, was chosen to host the fourth edition of the event by the International Olympic Committee in January 2020.

Gangwon 2024 is expected to use many facilities of Pyeonchang 2018, which is said to ensure cost-effective and sustainable Youth Olympics.

The competition is tentatively scheduled for January 19 to February 2, 2024.

The KSOC has expressed hope for North Korea’s participation in organizing the event.

Relations between the two nations, which are still technically at war, seemed to thaw during the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and Paralympics in South Korea.

Relations have deteriorated since the Games, but South Korea has gone so far as to propose that Pyongyang could co-host the event in an effort to bolster their relationship.

The KSOC states that visitors to Team Korea House will be able to learn about the relationship between the two Koreas on the virtual platform.

The Korea House team was initially presented at the 2004 Athens Olympics and has since become a regular venue at both the Olympics and the Asian Games.
