The new Riverside County Library opens in the French Valley area: Press Enterprise

Another Riverside County library opened Saturday, July 31 to serve residents of the French Valley area.

The arrival of the branch is subsequent to that of the new Menifee library, which opened its doors on 17 July.

The new 25,000-square-foot French Valley Library, now the second largest in the county, after Temecula’s, is located at 31526 Skyview Road, in the Winchester area.

With a suitable aviation theme at the nearby French airport in the valley, the library includes services such as private study rooms, a community meeting room for events, spaces for teenagers and young people and a story room for children. His collection has more than 52,000 materials.

In a press release, the county librarian, Barbara Howison, described the library as a “wonderful educational and recreational good” for the community.

Suzanne Holland, director of the county’s Office of Economic Development, joined Howison and library officials for Saturday’s grand opening.

“The French Valley Library is the most anticipated new facility in the entire Third District,” said Chuck Washington, Riverside County Supervisor. “The value that libraries bring to communities cannot be overstated.”

On opening day, the library hosted activities for families, such as a virtual reality experience, STEM activities, arts and crafts. Free library cards were also issued.

Earlier this month, the Riverside County library system also opened a branch in Desert Hot Springs.
