Valentino has collaborated with artist Sara Ludy to create an exclusive NFT digital artwork titled “Astral Garden” through Valentino Insights. Not alien to the virtual world, Valentino Insights is the virtual reality environment of the fashion brand created by the start-up Vertual. They are now opening their doors (online) at the Valentino Roman Palazzo Art Residency for the world to see.

This online platform is based on the lifestyle of designer Pierpaolo Piccioli and has several different rooms to explore. The first room is dedicated to NFT works of art, so here you will find Ludy’s “Astral Garden”, created exclusively by Valentino. Through this piece, Ludy performed the new Valentino Roman Palazzo collection and aimed to create a hybrid digital world, connecting the virtual with reality. The artwork has been auctioned off and sold on the Foundation’s website for $ 5.4, or about $ 18,000.

Valentino advanced further in the field of virtual reality earlier this year by opening the Valentino Episode SoHo store in June 2021 to present an exhibition of NFT digital works by artist Matthew Stone. Among other designers, it is clear that Valentino will not leave the world of virtual reality soon.

“We are at a time when our physical and virtual lives have collapsed and we are experiencing this hybrid reality in which our lives are mediated by digital technologies, and I am interested in what happens to this collapse, what rises , as this hybrid reality expands and contracts our sense of being and connection, ”Ludy said. “The astral garden refers to this hybrid space in how it moves from one digital dimension to another: from virtual reality to 3D space to 2D space and backwards. The process is like weaving fabrics with all these textures and experiences. It becomes a multidimensional material. The piece is this multidimensional parchment that reflects on the collapse of nature and simulation ”.

Hailing from New Mexico, Ludy works to combine nature, being and simulation in her art. She is currently represented by the bitforms gallery and some of her exhibitions have been at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Whitney Museum of American Art and more. His art has also appeared in the New York Times, Modern Painters, Cultured Magazine and more.
