VR dev XR Games gets $ 2.1 million to expand the team and create new franchises

UK-based augmented and virtual reality gaming studio XR Games has secured £ 1.5 million ($ 2.1 million) in funding to expand its development team.

The investment was led by Maven Equity Finance with the support of ACT Capital Partners and will allow XR to create 20 new roles in its Leeds studio.

XR has worked on several RV titles including Angry Birds under pressure, Zombieland Headshot Fever, i All-Star Fruit Racing VR.

In addition to allowing XR to hire senior staff, including a creative director and an operations director, the funds will also allow the studio to begin developing its own original franchises.

“It is very exciting to see the team grow and develop, and with our vacancies receiving hundreds of applicants, it is clear that there is a great desire for others who want to join our journey,” he said. Bobby Thandi, CEO and founder of XR Games, in a press release.
